Katsuhiro Otomo initiated the omnibus memories with two animators in the early 30s. Koji Morimoto's Magnetic Rose is a futuristic ˇ§ Loreira no Majoˇ¨, a lyrical tale of the power of passion. Stink Bomb, by Tensai Okamura, is a hilarious jab at Japanese militarism. Nobuo Tanaka mistakes a concoction of the bacterium war division for cold medicine and becomes a lethal walking stink bomb. Whereas Otomo's own Cannon Fodder, a 22-minute story done in one scene and one frame, tells the dreams of a boy living in a town that lives and dies for cannons.
