Press Conference for the 30 th HKIFF
Fresh Wave Joint-U Short Film Competition

Aimed at nurturing new talents for Hong Kong film industry, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society are pleased to present the 30 th HKIFF “Fresh Wave Joint-U Short Film Competition”, with Mr. Chow Yun Fat as our honorable guest at the press conference held on November 16, 2005 .

The programme aims a t cultivating the filmmaking technique of university students at film schools or film departments of tertiary institutions by offering them inputs from industry professionals and opportunity to screen their films at the upcoming 30 th Hong Kong International Film Festival (April 4-19, 2006), thereby encouraging students to be more adaptable to the film industry and market demands and at the same time expanding the exposure of their works to both international media and local audience.

Under this programme, students will be introduced to the perspectives of film professionals by attend ing eight Master Class es held on 4 consecutive Saturdays from November 26 to December 17 on producing, directing, scriptwriting, cinematography, art direction, editing, music and acting. The speakers from the industry are listed as follows:
