Frederick Wiseman

美國 / 2020 / English / 275 minutes / DCP / Colour

Over half a decade since his debut, Titicut Follies (1967), master documentarian Frederick Wiseman returns to his hometown to deliver an epic look at Boston’s city government, after capturing institutions in 17 American states. Observing the everyday minutiae coming in and out of City Hall, Wiseman shows how the administration under Mayor Marty Walsh’s leadership works in the face of multiple challenges. A sweeping, panoramic vision of what a democratic government should be: competent, efficient and deeply human, which is a sharp counterpoint to the Trump presidency.

2/4: Master Class (in English) with guest moderator Ruby Yang
